Math Centers – 10 frames and shapes

October 1, 2013 by sarahcasady Filed Under: Fall, Math Leave a Comment

This week we are still working on number sense by using 10 frames. My students love doing these engaging activities! The 10 frame link also helps build fine motor skills. For the students to be accountable for their work, I created math packets for them to write down their numbers.

To make: I cut envelops in half and taped the flap down. Then I made my own 10 frames on the front and cut strips of construction paper with numbers to match the 10-frame pockets. I chose green for numbers 0-10 and red for 11-20 to differentiate.

Sorting shapes! Students can sort their shapes on the shape mats. Then the count the number of shapes and write them down on their paper.
